In the Book of Acts, we read of the birth, formation, and challenges the early church faced. One of the first examples can be found in Chapter 6:1-7. Here, we read of a challenge, solution, and results thereof. This same pattern can be seen throughout the planting of new churches, from Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, to the ends of the earth, to date. Overlooking these simple guidelines and majoring on minor issues is not only unproductive, but divisive for church life.
Today, what are issues that either unite or divide congregations. Are there solutions to it? Is there will to resolve issues and build the Kingdom of God, or are we knowingly or unknowingly destroying it?
