In Romans 14:17-19, we read, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”. Without overcomplicating matters, Paul is teaching the Romans about the gospel’s core principles. It has nothing to do with kosher food or drink, nor with what we consume or don’t consume. As Jesus taught, it is all about what goes on in our hearts. In particular, it is about righteousness, which cannot be earned; peace, which cannot be bought; and joy, which differs from happiness. In this video, we will briefly explore these concepts.
