As Christians, we are often told, “Don’t be angry.” However, this advice is not biblical and contrary to Scripture. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:26, “In your anger, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” While God is love, his wrath against sin and unrighteousness is evident throughout scripture. God’s wrath will be displayed at the final judgment before the new heavens and earth are redeemed.
Thus, it is important to realize that anger is not sinful unless it leads to sin. Jesus demonstrated righteous anger toward God in the temple when he cleansed it of money changers and called them a “den of thieves.” As believers, we need to understand how to apply anger toward righteousness and manage it so that it does not become sinful. Christians in general lack biblical anger management.
How, then, can we have biblical anger? What should trigger the wrath of God in us? What does it mean to have mercy and justice? How should believers respond to the moral decay of today’s society? Should we idly sit by when false prophets and teachings prevail? In this video, we explore these questions and discover the importance of being angry for the right reasons and causes.
