Bursting Bubbles! – Ravi Chandran

We will focus on the bubbles we live in, why we create them, and whether there is a need to break free from them.

In Ephesians 4:10, we read, “‘Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.’” But what does it mean to “grieve” the Holy Spirit? A more appropriate question might be, “Have you personally been grieved?” This is a universal question because everyone you meet has either been grieved, will grieve, or is perhaps recovering from grief. While the extent of grief may differ, its impact can have long-lasting effects, causing us to develop “defence mechanisms” to avoid such pain in the future.

Those closest to us often seem to be able to inflict the greatest pain in our lives; we, in turn, also tend to inflict the greatest pain upon those closest to us. Not grieving means being aware of others and sensitive to their feelings. Failing to do so means living in a ‘bubble’, where your world consists of “I”, “me” and “myself”
