ICC SUNDAY SERVICES

This Sunday, the 11th October, we resume regular services in the adult and children’s church. At the adult’s service, Ravi will share a message entitled, “What’s so funny about Isaac?” Let us explore the story of the promised son.

His name literally means laughter due to the situation and circumstances to which he was born. Isaac was the promised son both to Abraham and Sarah in their ripe old age. Though God had promised Abraham children, Sarah was barren, and so she resorted to asking Abraham to take Hagar her servant as a surrogate mother, who gave birth to a son, Ishmael. While Abraham consented to this plan, God had not faltered on His promise. When the impending birth of Isaac was announced to Abraham, Sarah, literally laughed when she overheard, considering her old age. God’s response was simple, “Is there anything too hard for me?” After the death of Abraham, Isaac’s journey begins with its own set of challenges and blessings from God.

Let us follow his life and learn precious lessons from this man of “laughter” and see what we can learn about God’s faithfulness in fulfilling His promises to us. Yes, life can be filled with challenges. Sorrow may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning. The joy of the Lord will be our strength to carry us through. Amen.

  4. Do take time daily for a short personal devotion from inspirations share by www.odb.org. All home groups in ICC follow these blessed devotions.
